After the strike that has paralyzed the economic sector of construction for 30 days, an analysis conducted considers that the economic growth will be under 4% for this 2018, despite the fact that months ago it was expected to be higher, this because for each day of the strike the country has stopped producing around 30 million. The economist Olmedo Estrada assures that the strike has hit one of the sectors that most contributes to the country’s gross domestic product.
This was not the only activity hit in the panamanian economy, among many the entry of tourists in the country and the movement of the container were affected. However, experts say that the decrease is not a reason to think that the country is in crisis, it is only going through a diminution in economic growth.
